Setting Captives Free

Cynthia Kerr M.A.

I knew that God was calling me to use my life experiences and ministry experiences to help hurting people get “unstuck” from their problems.

Some of the tools I use to do this include:

  • God's Word and Prayer

  • EMDR Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques

  • APS Temperament Profile

  • Codependency and Boundaries Group Therapy

  • Talk Therapy

My main areas of focus include:

  • Individuals 16 years and up

  • Women in crisis and abuse situations

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Grief

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Divorce Therapy

Isaiah 61:1 is my calling:  “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”

After spending many years in darkness and making wrong choices, God set me free from my own prison.  Not a prison of iron bars, but a prison in my own mind.  My heart’s desire is to see individuals get set free from their past, and find their true identity, which is “In Christ.”  God’s desire is to “set the captives free,” and I feel very privileged to be a part of that journey with my clients.
