A Place to Heal
Cherilyn Wright Ph.D. M.A. B.S.N.
I believe that our experiences, both good and bad, are not our identity; they are simply a part of our story. Many people struggle with allowing an experience to take its place in their story. I enjoy assisting in this process.
Some of the tools I use to do this include:
-
God's Word
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques
-
APS Temperament Profiles
-
EMDR Therapy
-
Sandtray
-
Group Therapy
My main areas of focus include:
-
Individuals
-
Grief
-
Pre-Marriage
-
Various Types of Trauma
-
Temperament Therapy

I grew up as the fourth of five sisters. After graduating from nursing school and working as a nurse at Vanderbilt Surgical Intensive Care Unit, I moved to the island of St. Croix to join a group of missionaries. What I thought would be a 1-2 year commitment turned into a 25 year experience during which I met my husband, adopted 2 daughters, and experienced numerous hurricanes. I returned to Tennessee in 2007, and as my daughters were finishing high school, I asked the Lord what was next for me. He showed me that counseling had been the thread that had run throughout my life. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle going back to school in my 50's, but in obedience I said yes. It was like coming home! I began the counseling journey and I've never looked back.
